Survey on SDG localization
Local and regional governments’ report to the 2024 High-Level Political Forum

 

Dear members,

Since 2017, seven ‘Towards the localization of the SDGs’ reports have been presented by the Global Taskforce (GTF) to the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF), the central platform for follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (you can find them here). The seven reports were successfully presented as a pack at the 2023 SDG Summit that took place last September in New York. UCLG, on behalf of the GTF, is already working on the 8th report, to be presented at the 2024 HLPF in July.
 
We need the support of LRGs and their associations: Please fill in the Survey!
 
Your support and answers to the survey will be critical for our collective assessment of the progress made by local and regional governments in the localization of the SDG and our future action towards 2030.
 
We invite local and regional governments and their associations from all countries and, particularly, from the 42 countries that have committed to submit a Voluntary National Review (VNR) to the 2024 HLPF.

• You can access this link to complete it online. If you are a European local government association, please complete this survey by 28 February 2024. If you are a European local or regional government or a non-European association or local or regional government, you have time until 1 April 2024.

In 2024, the HLPF’s theme will be “Reinforcing the 2030 Agenda and eradicating poverty in times of multiple crises: the effective delivery of sustainable, resilient and innovative solutions”. It will review in-depth the following SDGs:

• SDG 1 (No Poverty)
• SDG 2 (Zero Hunger)
• SDG 13 (Climate Action)
• SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions)
• SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)

Through the survey, local and regional governments and their associations will be able to share their insights, realities and inspiring practices around this topic. Two additional questions on migration and SDG 6 on water are also included.
