UCLG 2023 Executive Bureau
Programme and agenda
12-15 June 2023, Brussels
Dear members,
We are pleased to share with you some up-date on the next Executive Bureau, taking place in Brussels on 12-15 June, under the theme “Local and Regional Governments driving high-impact actions to accelerate common goals”.
General programme
As you know, the Executive Bureau meetings will take place in the framework of the Brussels Urban Summit. The Summit will also bring together the 14th Metropolis Congress, the Eurocities Annual Conference and the 6th OECD Champion Mayors Summit for Inclusive Growth Initiative. It is foreseen that over 300 cities participate in the Summit, with more than 1,000 politicians, experts and representatives of civil society, to exchange ideas on sustainable, affordable and livable cities.
You can already consult the programme of the Brussels Urban Summit, although a few up-dates are to be expected.
We would like to call your attention on the following plenaries, which might be of interest:
- Opening plenary, 13 June
- Plenary on Urban Inequality, 13 June
- Plenary on Migration and Diversity, 14 June
- Plenary on Climate, 15 June
- Closing Plenary, 15 June
Furthermore, in the framework of the Metropolis Congress, to which UCLG is contributing, a joint session will be celebrated on 13 June afternoon on “Unlocking the potential of science in cities”.
Statutory Track
We are also pleased to confirm that the business session of the Executive Bureau will be held on Thursday 15 June, from 14:00-18:00 CEST, in a hybrid format. You can already consult the proposed agenda for the meeting, which will be held at the venue of the Brussels Urban Summit: SQUARE Brussels Convention Centre.
As usual, the Executive Bureau will be preceded by the meetings of the UCLG institutional committees, open to members of these bodies:
- Financial Management Committee, Tuesday 13 June, 17:00-18:30 CEST
- Committee on Statutory Affairs, Wednesday 14 June, 14:00-16:00 CEST
These two meetings will be held at the headquarters of CEMR and will be mostly in-person, although the World Secretariat is exploring options to connect online.
Furthermore, UCLG will organize policy debates in the framework of its Executive Bureau. We will share more information on this as soon as possible.
Registration and general participation
To confirm your attendance to the Executive Bureau, be it in-person or online, we would be grateful if you could fill in the participation form by 8 June at the latest.
Registration to the Brussels Urban Summit is also open and we invite you to confirm your attendance to the Summit sessions via the dedicated page. Please note that the sessions of the Summit are mostly in-person.
