The online training, open to the public officials of local governments and metropolitan cities is free of charge, and combines self-paced learning through UCLG, UNDRR and UN-Habitat's online course on "Fundamentals of Resilient Governance", video lectures exploring concrete examples of local resilience policies by the city of Seoul, and interactive online sessions for participants to engage with each other and learn from other experiences.
Live Sessions will take place via ZOOM in the following dates:
Session 1 : 7th Sept, 2022 - 09:00-11:00 (CEST)
Session 2 : 14th Sept, 2022 - 09:00-11:00 (CEST)
Session 3 : 21st Sept, 2022 - 09:00-11:00 (CEST)
In addition to completing the online course, reviewing video lectures, and joining the live sessions, each person or group (if multiple officials are joining from the same city) will have to submit an action plan exploring resilience policies in their city at the end of the course, which will be reviewed and receive feedback from experts from Seoul and/or organizing partners.
In-person Workshop & Site Visits
An optional offline, in-person workshop will be held between October 17-19, 2022 in Seoul City. This workshop, open for participants who have successfully completed the online training, will include lectures, site-visits and discussions of participants' action plans (submitted at the end of the online course).
SHRDC will cover accommodation, meals during the course, logistics, and training fees. Participating cities/officers will need to cover airfare, entrance costs (visa, K-ETA, PCR test, travel insurance, etc.), daily allowances, and other costs if they wish to join the in-person workshop.
