Survey on SDG Localization
Local and Regional Governments' Report to the 2022 High-Level Political Forum
Dear members,
Since 2016, United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) has been reporting every year, on behalf of the Global Taskforce of Local and Regional Governments, to the High-Level Political Forum of the United Nations (HLPF) on the role of local and regional governments (LRGs) in the localization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The next report will be presented in July 2022.
We need your support: Please fill in the Survey!
We need the support of the local and regional governments and their national associations from all countries and, particularly, from the 45 countries that have committed to submit a Voluntary National Review (VNR) to the 2022 HLPF. The complete list of countries by region is available below. Your support and answers will be critical for our collective progress as well as knowledge and experience sharing so as to truly advance the localization of the 2030 Agenda and its crucial SDGs.
We would be grateful to the UCLG Sections for supporting the dissemination of the survey and gathering of information.
You can access this link to complete it online, before April 1st. Through this link you will also find a downloadable file that you can use as a guide. In case of technical issues, kindly get in touch with us and we will provide an off-line version of the survey.
The 2022 HLPF is going to address the theme “Building back better from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) while advancing the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”. Our survey and report will focus in particular on highlighting local and regional governments’ contribution to a more sustainable and just recovery from COVID-19.
We would also very much appreciate that you share with us inspiring practices related to the localization of the five SDGs on which the HLPF 2022 edition will focus: quality education (SDG 4), gender equality (SDG 5), life below water (SDG 14), life on land (SDG 15), and partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).
For our European members only: European local government associations and local and regional governments have already received a similar survey sent by the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR) and PLATFORMA in February. If you did not receive it, you can also access it through the following link. Please make sure you only answer the survey once.
We remain at your disposal for any questions you might have. Do not hesitate to write to us at gold@uclg.org.
Sincerely,
The UCLG World Secretariat
