EU Call for Proposals for Local and Regional Authorities

Dear members,
The European Union attaches great importance to continuing to support sustainable cities from around the globe.
The EU has just published its 2018 Call for Proposals on Local Authorities: Partnerships for sustainable cities and we would like to invite local and regional authorities to apply and put forward valuable proposals.
Objectives and specifics of this Call for Proposals
The objective of the Call for Proposals is to promote integrated urban development through partnerships built among local authorities and partner countries in accordance with the 2030 Development Agenda.
The proposals made by the members should focus on:
- Strengthening urban governance
- Ensuring the inclusiveness of cities
- Improving the resilience and greening of cities
- Improving prosperity and innovation in cities
Actions selected from this Call for Proposals will aim to clearly demonstrate addressing the following priorities: contribution to the achievement of SDG11, promotion or peer-to peer learning and exchanges at subnational level, including twining/decentralized cooperation, and promoting multi-stakeholder approaches. Additional priorities are at least one of the following: triangular cooperation, smart cities, job creation.
Please note that local and regional governments and their associations in Asia-Pacific, Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, Central America, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and the Middle East are encouraged to submit proposals (please see Annex N for the list of eligible countries for applicants and Annex O for eligible countries for actions).
The minimum size of the grant amount is €2,000,000 and the maximum €5,000,000. The EC can co-finance a maximum of 95% of the total eligible costs.

Please note that the EU is organising an information session on the practical aspects of the application process at the EuropeAid InfoPoint (43 Rue de la Loi) on 7 November 2018, at 10:00. As places will be limited, please send an email to europeaid-c5@ec.europa.eu, indicating: name, surname, nationality, email address and organisation (max. two participants per organisation) by 5 November.
