Dear members,

A few days before our Executive Bureau starts in Brussels, under the theme “Local and Regional Governments driving high-impact actions to accelerate common goals”, we would like to share with you the latest up-dates to facilitate your participation.
 
We are expecting over 200 participants to join us in person in Brussels. The list of participants is now available on the UCLGMeets platform, as well as the Zoom link to connect to the Executive Bureau meeting on 15 June, for those members who will be joining online.
 
 
Executive Bureau Business Session and Future Envisioning Exercise
 
For your reference, you can consult the detailed agenda of the Executive Bureau meeting, scheduled on 15 June, from 14:00-18:00.
 
The Executive Bureau will start with an Opening (14:00-14:30), counting on the presence of the Presidency of UCLG and a high-representative from the European Commission.
 
The first segment of the Business Session (14:30-16:00) will focus on the Institutional issues of our Organization.
 
As informed in our previous circular, the Policy Debate of the Executive Bureau will take the format of a Future Envisioning Exercise and will be held from 16:00-17:00. A series of Future Envisioning Exercises were held in May, and this fifth session will bring together the political leadership in an open conversation with journalists and civil society, to ensure that the learnings and aspirations shared throughout the Exercises reach the heart of the World Organization.
 
The second segment of the Business Session (17:00-18:00) will see up-dates on Policy priorities and strategic priorities, including presentations from members of the Presidency on the work priorities.
 
 
Up-dates on sessions

• The Urban Journalism Academy will be held on Tuesday 13 June at the Cities Alliance UN House, from 10:00-17:00.
• The joint session organized by Metropolis and UCLG, “Building the Future: How Science is Transforming Metropolises”, is confirmed on Tuesday 13 June, from 14:00-16:00.
• In the framework of the Brussels Urban Summit, the joint workshop organized by Cities and Alliance and UCLG, “Addressing Inequalities and Informality: Rethinking Financing and the Role of Local and Regional Governments” will be celebrated on Wednesday 14 June at the Brussels Square Convention Center, from 16:00-18:00.
• A session co-organized by UCLG-MEWA, Metropolis and EuroCities, entitled “After the Earthquake: A Conversation with Mayors” is confirmed on Thursday 15 June, from 12:30-14:00, at the Brussels Square Convention Center.

 For Metropolis members: We would also like to inform you that the meetings organized by Metropolis on Monday 12 June, which are by invitation only, are organized at Brussels City Hall - 1, Grand Place
 
 
Logistics
 
Registrations to the Brussels Urban Summit are now closed. However, our hosts inform that onsite registrations will take place on the afternoon of Monday 12 June.
 
Onsite registration will also be possible on 13 and 14 June for the few cases that could not register before. If this is your case, we recommend that you go to the reception of Square Convention Center early before your sessions, since there might be a little wait.
