UCLG ASPAC, together with UN-Habitat and Penang Women's Development Corporation (PWDC) will organise the first session of Asia-Pacific Mayors’ Dialogue on Gender Responsive and Participatory Initiatives (GRPI). The objectives of this webinar are to increase awareness and understanding on gender quality among city and local governments and the public, and introduce best practices and tools in mainstreaming gender equality in various city policies and/or programmes.
"Gender Responsive and Participatory Initiatives (GRPI) at the Local Government Level" is a serial capacity-building programme that focuses on knowledge sharing of what it means to incorporate gender equality and overall inclusiveness in projects undertaken by cities and local governments. It will also include how gender budgeting is a useful tool in accelerating the achievement of SDGs, and an excellent channel to raise awareness of people's (women's) participation in decision-making, especially in terms of local government's public funds.
