Executive Bureau in Strasbourg: Report on Key Decisions
Dear members,
Following the UCLG Executive Bureau held in Strasbourg, France, on 23-25 May 2018, we are pleased to enclose the
Report on Key Decisions.
We thank all members for their active participation and insightful contributions. We hope you share the positive evaluation of the outcomes of the meetings in Strasbourg.
Held in the European Parliament and gathering over 300 local and regional delegates, including over 70 political representatives, as well as more than 50 national government officials and international organizations, it is safe to describe the meetings of the Executive Bureau as a resounding success.
For the first time, the meetings of the governing bodies of UCLG included a dialogue between national and local governments, set up in collaboration with UN-Habitat, in the framework of UNACLA and the Global Taskforce. This high-level segment featured the President of UCLG, Parks Tau, and the UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UN-Habitat, Maimunah Mohd Sharif.
